I understand that the complete application and payment for a renewing member must be provided to the CSC Administrator within 30 days of my company’s certification expiration date. Thereafter, missing, or incomplete information or non-payment in full will constitute a formal Expiration. This will result in removal of the member listing on the C-CSC website and notification of the member’s supporting manufacturer, if any. Additionally, an expired member agrees to immediately remove all CSC certification references and all CSC logo items from their use, including but not limited to facility doors and windows, website, proposals and letterhead, company vehicles, emails, business cards, and clothing.

Requirement 1 - Repair Facility

Each Certified Service Center shall have a storefront or other fixed, permanent, and professional place of business suitable to the nature of the business that complies with all applicable zoning laws. Exceptions to the visible repair facility requirement may be reviewed by the CSC Certification Oversight Committee. If your Repair Facility location information and/or number of locations changes during the upcoming certification period, please send contact information and photos to admin@c-csc.org.

Requirement 2 - Adherence to Code of Conduct Info

Each Certified Service Center shall agree to abide by the established code of ethics presented below. Read the following CSC code of ethics and sign the statement of agreement at the bottom of this section.

CODE OF ETHICS - WE COMMIT TO:

Conduct business in a manner that will ensure the confidence of our customers.
Not participate in any false or misleading advertising.
Provide an estimate of charges before work is initiated.
Perform only such service as is necessary and authorized by the customer.
Provide new and first quality parts, unless otherwise specified.
Provide accurate invoices that list all parts that were used and service that was performed.
Resolve all customer complaints promptly and courteously.
Handle customer property carefully.
Maintain insurance coverage to protect customer property while under our control.
Strive to continually improve the image and reputation of our industry.

Requirement 3 - Industry Approved Equipment info

Each Certified Service Center shall own and maintain in good repair the industry approved minimum test equipment for each distinct product category for which certification is awarded. For information on recommended test equipment please click here.

Requirement 4 - Customer Service Program

Each Certified Service Center shall have a written customer service program policy that incorporates a customer communication and relationship process. The policy shall:

a) Outline the procedures used to inform customers of service estimates, revised estimates, parts to be ordered, parts on backorder, completion repair date, service delays and field service appointments.

b) Describe the methods used to gather customer information regarding the perceived quality of service received. Describe how this information is then used to improve the level of service provided to customers. Include sample copies of surveys, charts and reports that are utilized for this purpose.

c) Explain the process used to resolve a customer complaint including a list of each step in the process, the employee responsible for each step and the required timeframe for each action and resolution. This policy shall be posted for customer inspection.

Requirement 5 - Technical Certification

For NEW applicants, at least 25% of all technicians and technical staff, and for RENEWING applicants, at least 50% of all technicians and technical staff employed must be certified by a recognized national certification provider.

ETA and PSA have entry-level certification programs. Other certification provider programs will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the CSC Certification Oversight Committee whose members include representatives from the founding industry organizations: EWA, ETA, and PSA.

Requirement 6 - Service Manager Certification

Each NEW Certified Service Center must employ one person who has either a Certified Service Manager (CSM) certification or a 2-year or higher Business Degree. NOTE: Upon RENEWAL, only a Certified Service Manager certification will be accepted.

Requirement 8 - Insurance Coverage

Each Certified Service Center shall maintain insurance coverage for business liability and cyber liability.

If a policy expires prior to the three-year CSC certification period, updated policy information must be provided before policy expiration.

Requirement 9 - Service Warranty

Each Certified Service Center shall provide a reasonable warranty on labor performed and on parts replaced from the date the product was returned to the customer. Each service center shall post in public view their warranty policy, and shall comply with local, state, and federal warranty laws. Requirement 10 - Professional Appearance

Each Certified Service Center shall maintain a written dress code for employees that conduct in-person meetings with customers and members of the public. The dress code shall include a description of the image that the employee should project, a statement that describes any required elements of dress, appearance and grooming, and a statement that describes any prohibited elements of dress, appearance, and grooming.

Requirement 11 - Cybersecurity

Each Certified Service Center shall implement and maintain organizational best practices regarding cybersecurity protection for their and their customers’ proprietary information.
